Bee Eigen Unveils Debut EP 'Sanguine' – A Raw Exploration of Identity, Validation, and Mental Health

California indie folk artist Bee Eigen released her debut EP, Sanguine, on August 30, 2024.

Featured tracks include “Incredible Nothing”, the lightest song on the EP, inspired by the vast and empty Copperopolis and Murphys, CA and an incidental haunted Airbnb stay. “Cake” follows, offering a complex metaphor on why we let others define our self-worth. “Aquarium Blue,” the simplest yet most haunting track, showcases Bee Eigen’s signature melodies and delves into the death of old identity when entering into motherhood. The EP closes with “Bugs at McNear,” a heartfelt dedication to Bee’s young daughter.

Bee Eigen chose the title Sanguine to evoke the contrast between the deep, emotional intensity symbolized by blood and the underlying sense of hope and renewal that threads through the EP. Musically, Sanguine has a minimalist feel, centered around melody and guitar, creating the raw but honest sound that Bee is known for.
